Willamette Industries

An excellent example of a situation where unattended operation of the Tri-Trak feature is enhanced with the Forms Cutter is provided by Willamette Industries. This integrated forest products company manufactures and sells a wide assortment of wood and paper products, generating revenues of over $3 billion.

The Forms Division of Willamette has installed over 100 FormsPro printers with Forms Cutters, running off IBM AS/400s. There are two units in each branch office: one is in the customer service area printing orders, order acknowledgments and reports; while the other is in the accounting area printing invoices and shipping documents.

Without the FormsPro, Willamette would have either had to buy many more printers -- which was a problem due to space and computer port concerns, or run their print jobs in batches and change forms manually -- which is a waste of their staff's time, and would cause delays of the handling of the orders and shipments. With the FormsPro Willamette now handles its orders and shipments more efficiently and is able to make more productive use of the space and computer resources they've freed up.
