Mobile Printers


Standard Warranty

Your PrintekMobile printer will be repaired and adjusted to factory specifications. Factory service repairs include a 30-day warranty on parts and labor.

Coverage Under Standard Warranty:

✔ All Printek mobile warranties cover the entire printer: case, printhead, and battery included. The VehiclePro420, FieldPro 530, FieldPro 530L, FP641, FP541, I820, I80, and MLP-35 carry a 2-year warranty.

✔ Printers under warranty coverage must be returned to Printek for warranty repair.

✔ The warranty does not cover damage to printers through excessive mistreatment. Cost of repair for an excessively mistreated printer, if repair can be accomplished, will be considered a Major Repair.

✔ Customer is responsible for shipping printer(s) to Printek for warranty repair. Printek is responsible for shipping the printer(s) back to the customer.

✔ Please call Printek Customer Service to obtain a Return Authorization Number. Units returned without a Return Authorization will not be accepted.

FACTORY SERVICE REPAIR RATES

Per-Incident Repair: Your Printek mobile printer will be repaired and adjusted to factory specifications. Factory service repairs include a 30-day warranty on parts and labor.

Coverage Under Standard Warranty:

✔ All Printekmobile printers carry a full Two (2) Year Warranty on the entire printer—case, printhead, and battery included.

✔ Printers under warranty coverage must be returned to Printek for warranty repair.

✔ The warranty does not cover damage to printers through excessive mistreatment. Cost of repair for an excessively mistreated printer, if repair can be accomplished, will be that of a Major Repair as shown below.

Costs for repair of printers not under warranty are as shown below.

Customer is responsible for shipping printer(s) to and from Printek. Expedited shipping is available at additional cost.

Extended Warranty

PrintekMobile offers comprehensive warranty extension programs at a reasonable price:

P3 Extended 3-Year Warranty Program

Enjoy the peace of mind of knowing you have the industry’s most comprehensive printer warranty. The P3 standard thermal printer warranty covers the entire printer–case, and printhead—through the first year of ownership.

All covered repairs during the warranty period are cost-free. After the warranty period, repair costs are outlined on the Regular Factory Service page.

P3 Extended Warranty*:

✔ The warranty period for covered items is extended to three years from the date of purchase.

✔ Any printer returned for depot service under a P3 warranty will enjoy expedited turnaround, usually within three business days.

✔ Service under this warranty period is a return to depot plan. Incoming shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Return freight via UPS Ground is the responsibility of Printek.

✔ Receive the reassurance of product covered by warranty for a longer period of time.

P3 gives you more time under warranty and expedited factory service turnaround. Value pricing is offered for P3 when purchased at the same time as your printer.

*Batteries are excluded under the P3 Extended Warranty

Warranty service may only be obtained by returning the printer to Printek. Please call Printek Customer Service to obtain a Return Authorization Number. Units returned without a Return Authorization will not be accepted.

Dot Matrix Printers


Standard Warranty

All Printek dot matrix printers come with a one-year, return-to-factory printer warranty, and a two-year limited printhead warranty when Printek brand ribbons are used. The printhead warranty drops to one year when non-Printek brand ribbons are used.

Printek Express Programs (PEP)

✔ Factory service offers the benefit of having your equipment repaired by highly trained technicians who understand your printer inside and out.

✔ Printek Express Programs (PEPs) provide two options for factory service without a long wait:

PEP I: Replacement Program

✔ Printek ships a replacement printer UPS Ground (U.S. only), Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST. Simply return the nonworking unit—with prepaid freight and insured—within 10 days.

✔ You now have a printer that is yours to keep, complete with the latest technology updates.

PEP II: Return to Depot Repair Program

✔ Printek will repair and ship your printer within 7-10 working days of its arrival at the factory.

PEP III: Onsite Service Repair

✔ Printek will dispatch a certified repair technician within 2 business days to the location for repair.

Regular Factory Service Options

Dot Matrix Printers ᅵ Service options 

Two options are available for service repair at the factory.

Flat-Rate Repair: Your Printek printer will be repaired and adjusted to factory specifications. Note: Replacement of a defective printhead is not covered under the standard flat-rate price. Includes a 30-day warranty on parts and labor.

Refurbished Repair: Your Printek printer will be repaired and updated both electronically and mechanically. Preventive maintenance will also be performed on major subassemblies such as the ribbon drive, timing belt, head gapping, paper stepper and, for certain models, the shuttle area. Printhead replacement is also included provided it meets established criteria. Includes a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.

✔ All Printek printers carry a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor and a two-year limited warranty on the printhead (with the use of Printek brand ribbons).

✔ Printers under warranty coverage and not covered under a PEP or Service Center contract, must be returned to the nearest Independent Authorized Service Center or to Printek for warranty repair.

Independent Authorized Service Centers (iascs)

Dot Matrix Printers ᅵ Service options 

There are more than 100 IASCs around the world to help service your Printek dot matrix printers. These centers meet stringent criteria established by Printek’s Service Department for technical training and spare parts inventory.

The IASCs are authorized to perform warranty repairs and generally offer both onsite and depot level service. For information about the IASC nearest you, please contact us.
